Instead of continuing to boast about “changing the world,” Apple is focusing on “improving the experience.” After all, for the average user, a feature that accurately identifies products in photos is far more useful right now than an AI assistant that claims to understand the universe but frequently gives irrelevant answers.

The higher the expectations, the greater the disappointment. By lowering expectations, Apple may be bringing forward a reflection on “maximizing the application of evolving technology.” This presentation has demonstrated the incremental use of AI innovations at the intermediary level.

Rather than continuing to craft grand, all-encompassing systems, what current mobile AI may need most is exactly this approach.
