Has Musk Extended an Olive Branch to Trump? Shares Two Trump Posts Late at Night

After a shocking public spat last week, the tension between U.S. President Trump and billionaire Elon Musk appears to have eased. Previously, Musk had deleted some accusatory posts about Trump that he had shared on X.

Signs of reconciliation continue to emerge: On Sunday evening in the U.S., Musk, for the first time since the argument, retweeted a post from Trump’s Truth Social account, seemingly expressing support for the Trump administration’s handling of the Los Angeles immigration protests.

In one post, Trump stated that Los Angeles had been invaded and overrun by illegal immigrants and criminals. He had appointed several senior officials to handle the matter, and the unrest would come to an end, with Los Angeles returning to safety. After retweeting, Musk commented with an image of two American flags, signaling a clear alignment with Trump.

Musk also shared another post from Trump, in which he wrote that California Governor Gavin Newsom and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass should apologize to the people of Los Angeles, as their poor performance was one of the contributing factors to the unrest. The participants were not protesters, but rioters and insurgents.

In addition to sharing two of Trump’s posts, Musk also retweeted several others about the Los Angeles protests. One image showed a protester standing on top of a car, waving a Mexican flag. Musk commented that this was “not good.”

He also shared a post mocking Newsom, in which Newsom, dressed in a suit, was giving a speech with the chaotic streets of Los Angeles as the backdrop. The post’s caption suggested Newsom could use this video for his 2028 presidential campaign.
